What we collect
Account details (email, display name, date of birth), your profile content, photos and any video, a verification selfie, messages you send, and basic usage/security logs (e.g. IP address, device, timestamps). Because of what this community is, some of this is sensitive personal information (data revealing your sex life or sexual orientation, and biometric data). We process it only with your consent and handle it with heightened care.
Biometric / face verification
To confirm you're a real person, we compare a live selfie you provide against your profile
photo. This is a biometric identifier. We collect and use it only with
your explicit, informed consent, gathered at verification, and solely to verify
identity — we never sell, lease, trade, or profit from it, and we never use it for advertising.
Retention & destruction schedule: your verification selfie and any derived
face-geometry data are permanently deleted on the earliest of: (a) within 30 days
of the verification decision; (b) when you delete your account; or (c) three years
after your last interaction with us.
Third parties: Identity verification is performed in-house by our own
team — your selfie is reviewed on our own systems and is not sent to any
third-party verification vendor. You may withdraw consent and request deletion at any time (see
"Your rights").
How we use your information
To create and secure your account, verify identity, show your profile to other verified members, run messaging/events/forums, prevent abuse and fraud, comply with the law, and improve the service. The legal bases (where GDPR applies) are your consent, our legitimate interests in operating a safe community, and legal obligations.
Who can see your information
Your profile and photos are visible only to verified, logged-in members — never the public. Your date of birth and verification selfie are never shown to other members. Private-album photos and videos are shown only to members you grant access to. Exact event addresses are shown only to guests the host approves.
How we share
We do not sell or "share" your personal information for advertising. We disclose data only to: service providers who help us operate (e.g. hosting, email, and any verification vendor) under confidentiality obligations; and law enforcement or others when required by law or to prevent serious harm (including mandatory reporting of child sexual abuse material).
Data retention
We keep account and content data while your account is active and delete or anonymize it after account deletion, except limited records we must keep for legal, safety, or security reasons (and backups, which age out on a rolling basis). Biometric data follows the stricter schedule above.
Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: know/access the personal information we hold, receive a copy (portability), correct it, delete it, withdraw consent, and opt out of any sale or sharing (we don't sell or share). We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. In the app you can edit or hide your profile, delete photos, block members, toggle discretion, and delete your account and data. To make any other request, contact us at joinescapade@gmail.com. EU/UK users may also complain to their data-protection authority. (Note: a "download my data" export is on our roadmap.)
Cookies & tracking
We use only essential first-party cookies needed to log you in and protect the site (session and security/CSRF cookies). We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
We keep you out of search engines
The site sends "noindex" instructions and a restrictive robots.txt so pages aren't listed by Google or other search engines.
Security & breach notice
Passwords are hashed, traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), sensitive cookies are protected, and access is limited. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and enable two-factor authentication. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and any regulators as required by applicable law.
Children
This service is strictly for adults 18+. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we delete it and remove the account.
