Hosting your first gathering
1 min read ยท Newcomer 101
Thinking of hosting? Start small, set the tone, and keep everyone safe.
Hosting is one of the best ways to build community โ and starting simple makes it very doable.
Start social. A low-key meet & greet or munch before anything play-focused builds trust and lets people opt in at their own pace.
Set expectations in the invite: what kind of night it is, dress, whether it's social or play, the house rules, and any hard limits. Clarity is what makes people comfortable.
Curate the guest list. Verify and vet attendees; a good mix and a no-pressure vibe matter far more than numbers. It is always okay to say no to someone.
Cover the basics: a private, comfortable space, drinks and snacks, consent supplies, clearly separated play and social areas, and a plan for anyone who doesn't respect a no. You set the tone โ warm AND boundaried.
